Ilz river landscape

One of the most beautiful river landscapes in Germany is so-called "black pearl" river Ilz. The name refers to the dark brown water coloured by the peaty soil.

It has its source is the Rachelsee and in the city Passau it enters the Danube. There are romantic hiking trails in between, for example, such as between the Schneidermühle and Schrottenbaummühle in Tittling.
