The Bavarian Forest

... is not only one of Europe's oldest low mountain range, but also one of the most original. Here you can find giant trees and jungle paths, glacial lakes and lonely moorland.

The Bavarian Forest National Park and the adjacent Sumava National Park are called the green roof of Europe. Visit carefully-maintained facilities of national parks such as the animal enclosures with many domestic animal types, the Seelensteig, the rocky hiking area or the information centres at Falkenstein and Lusen A special highlight is the longest Treetop Walk in the world with the height of 44 m.

The Bavarian Forest Sea with the famous mountains Arber, Rachel, Falkenstein and Lusen invite for hiking tours. Particularly in combination with the free hiking “Igel” buses you can make many nice trips on well-marked trails. There are great routes in all levels of difficulty for mountain bikers as well. A visit to the forest game terrain and the nature discovery trail will be an unforgettable experience for children.

Of course it is everything provided for the physical wellbeing. In rustic mountain huts and cosy inns you can recharge yourself with a hearty snack and fresh “radler”. For longer trips, we will be happy to provide you with a hiking box with Bavarian delicacies.

We are centrally located in the Bavarian Forest and offer you the opportunity for many nice excursions.

Visit the Baroque city Passau on the three rivers. From here you can have many romantic river cruises on the Danube. The medieval town of Cesky Krumlov (World Heritage) in South Bohemia is also a popular destination.

We wish you a great game on one of three local golf courses. Here you can connect together the sport activity and the enjoyment of the Bavarian Forest nature.

The Bavarian Forest is also a centre for glass art. Whether it is small family glassworks, museums, artists or famous factories of worldwide brands. Here you find everything about glass and its history.
